Anthony Oram Frome United Breweries T-Shirt (Mens)
Designed by The Frome Independent’s regular designer Anthony Oram, The Frome United Breweries t-shirt stems from one of those strange-than-fiction occurences.
Frome United Breweries, was registered as a company in March 1889, with the amalgamation of Bath Arms Brewery, The Castle Brewery and the Badcox Brewery. In 1955 it merged with The Lamb Brewery, changing its name to Frome & Lamb and was later acquired by Stroud Brewery in 1957. The company went into liquidation in 1960.
Anthony, who moved to Frome over 50 years after FUB ceased trading had never heard of Frome United Breweries. But on a trip to America he found the sign in Brimfield, Massachusetts, 3219 miles away. He brought it back and used the sign as the basis for both this t-shirt its sister Frome t-shirt, also available from Foreground art Supplies.
